Dark Age of Camelot

This game was developed by Mythic Entertainment in 2001.  The concept is based on wars during the period of King Arthur.

The player from the following choices can choose gaming:

Dark Age of Camelot

The player gets to choose his characters, his animals and battles and other requirements for the play.  He plays to attain targets and completes tasks.  With this the player also earns money and experience.  Using this, he is able to access new areas within the game and also attain new levels.

The choice of Realms is the most interesting part of the game.  There are three choices provided to the players namely, fact, legend and folklore.  Most of the places that the player comes along in the game are real English location.  Much of the races is of mythical interest and thus relates to the time to which the game refers.

Though not a popular game, Dark Age of Camelot is a very interesting game that involves thought process and aptitude.

Final Fantasy

Square Enix developed the game and the motion picture Final Fantasy.  This is an action-based game, which was critically acclaimed for its graphics.  The game basically revolves around battles against monsters and requires the flair for carrying out battlefield commands.

Final Fantasy

The unique features of the game include the use of magic spells, which add a tinge of fantasy to it.  Some of the commands that the player can use are, “Attack”, “Defend”, “Cast magic” and “Run”.  The player can choose the battlefield and the battle commands and can progress through the game by the points he gains.

Many series of the game have been developed.  From Final Fantasy I to Final Fantasy XII, all of them have been successful and each has its own game development. It is interesting to note that the game battles themselves are cinematic in nature.  Advanced technology graphics make this game an interesting one for all age groups to play.

Halo

Halo, the game was developed by Bungie Studios.  It is a science fiction game series.  The game revolves around a super soldier who battles with technologically advanced weapons and armors.

The battles are usually against alien groups, which carry out attacks on human races in the idea of swiping out the entire human race.  The game involves many types of equipment such as ships, armor, weapons etc.  The attacks by the aliens are usually on military bases.

Halo

Many series of the game Halo have been developed since its release and most of them focus on such themes only.  The game requires strategic techniques to be followed by the player.

Halo, after the release has given rise to many science fiction novels, action figures and other comics.  A notable feature about this however is that, many other games have been developed on similar lines.

Some of the games in the Halo series are Halo 1, Halo 2, Halo 3, and Halo Wars.  There is also an unnamed Halo game that is to be launched in the near future.

Metal Gear Solid

Metal Gear Solid was developed by Konami Computer Entertainment by Japan.  This game involves high-end strategy and a unique concept.  The game revolves around a retired army man, who battles against a terrorist group to liberate their hostages and also foster their plans of launching a nuclear strike.

There are many techniques that the player is provided with, for example he can duck, crawl hide, jump and tackle his enemies in several ways. The most interesting feature of the game, however, is that it doesn’t get monotonous because of the single character; it involves many other ancillary characters, which may support the player in more ways than one.

Metal Gear Solid was appreciated for its graphics.  It has sold many million copies since its release.  It was well received by the media and gained many points from the game critics.  The awards and the ranking that it has received make it very popular game.

Second Life

The most appropriate way of describing Second Life is a virtual world for social networking. Though it is sometimes referred to as a game, it does not involve any target, scores, points, winners and losers and strategies.

Second life involves a virtual world, in which the users have to register themselves and create an ‘Avatar’, which would represent them. These, Avatars usually depict human figures with the desired physical attributes.

The game involves, many activities that the user can take up for personal enjoyment. He or she can have chatting with other avatars and the communication is usually text based. Some of the interesting features are that the avatars can also ‘shout’ or ‘whisper’.

Other interesting activities that the avatar can indulge in are transporting, either by foot or they can fly to certain heights. Traveling can also be done by means of driving. The avatar has the liberty to choose the means of transport.

The currency that is used in Second Life is Linden Dollars. The residents can create their own commodities, buy or sell them and set up trade practices. The other activities in Second Life include communities for sharing art. Residents can create their own virtual art forms and share it with other residents.

Education has taken a new dimension with Second Life. Residents throughout the world are using Second Life as a platform for conducting lectures and seminars and there are loads of information that people can access through Second Life. Many educational institutions are conducting many researches upon the usability of Second Life for creating new environments for education.

Second Life can otherwise be defined as a gateway to an individual’s dream world. All needs and desires can be fulfilled through this virtual world and gives a lot of scope for learning and socializing.
