Warhammer - A game full of excitement
August 29th, 2007 by Shenron
Wars are all about excitement and adrenaline rush. So are the series of Warhammer games developed by Mindscape for Playstations and PC.
Warhammer: Shadow of the Horned Rat, developed in 1995, and the second in line, Warhammer: Dark Omen, in the market since 1998, had already created ripples about PC games of Real- Time Strategy. You, Morgan Bernhardt, the Mercenary Commander, fighting a battle series in the Single Player campaign have to defend the Empire from Skaven (rat men),Orcs, the Undead and Chaos, who are considered enemies. You can also, at certain points in the campaign, add units you require, including allied Elves and Dwarf units. Warhammer: Mark of Chaos was a real-time tactical game developed by Namco. The final version as yet, Warhammer: The Age of Reckoning, published on the 18th of May 2005, was created by Mythic Entertainments.
In the present version, the following are the playable races: Empire, High Elves, Dark Elves, Dwarves, and Chaos, and Orcs & Goblins. A couple of major alliances will be formed by these races. As Matt Daniels says, “The Tome of Knowledge doubles as a sort of novel about the Age of Reckoning, where you are the main character.” As you pass through the various stages, you will challenge yourself to unravel the mystery in each chapter. The final chapter of the trailer contains a hammer wielding Warrior priest of Sigmar, pitted against the armoured Chaos Warrior in a climatic fight to death. It is for you to find out what it has in store for you!
Warhammer is definitely here to hammer out the adrenaline off you! So go ahead and enjoy!!!

This game was developed by Mythic Entertainment in 2001. The concept is based on wars during the period of King Arthur.
The player from the following choices can choose gaming:
- Player vs Environment: In this mode of gaming, the player is usually single and is slower. The target usually involves acquiring of weapons, by facing challenges put forth by beasts found in the environment.
- Player vs Player: This usually involves warfare and trade. The player is awarded with points based on the number of players he kills. The points are called Realm points, which further develop into Realm Ranks. Player vs player can be had either as single opponent players or as teams consisting of a maximum of eight players. The game requires tactical thinking and reasoning abilities.
The player gets to choose his characters, his animals and battles and other requirements for the play. He plays to attain targets and completes tasks. With this the player also earns money and experience. Using this, he is able to access new areas within the game and also attain new levels.
The choice of Realms is the most interesting part of the game. There are three choices provided to the players namely, fact, legend and folklore. Most of the places that the player comes along in the game are real English location. Much of the races is of mythical interest and thus relates to the time to which the game refers.
Though not a popular game, Dark Age of Camelot is a very interesting game that involves thought process and aptitude.

- Engaging main story
- Quick travel feature is an excellent idea for RPG’s

- Very linear story
- Despite being ‘free’ to go wherever you like, most places are blocked, closed or inaccessible
- Sound oddities
- Game not entirely stable, can crash out after several re-loads of a save file
