Everquest II

August 29th, 2007 by Shenron

This game is developed by Sony Entertainment.  The game involves killing of creatures in order to gain experience.  This is much similar to Everquest, the very first version of the series.  Interesting feature about the game however is the tradeskills that the characters can use.  This feature adds a lot of reality to the game.

Everquest II

The setting of the game is based upon historical background.  The characters, the beasts etc, belong to mythical nature.  The choices of names of the characters, developed in the game, arouse a lot of interest in the players. The game involves serious play and requires a lot of research from the part of the player, before playing the game.

Some of the features that EverQuest II contains are speed enhancement and encounter control.  This gives the player, more freedom to move around.  The ability to run backwards and fire missiles at the enemy are some of the most adventurous features of the game.

It is interesting to note that the races in the game are semi human like.  There are races of humans who have originated from rats, ratlike.  Some originate from frogs and are called froglike.  The characters can also have professions like artistry, tailoring, alchemy, jewelery.

The voices for the characters are all original and are given by Hollywood actors.  The music has been composed by Emmy award winning composers.  Thematic music, according to the scenes gives the touch of originality to the game.  On the whole this is a game for mature gamers.

City of Villains

August 29th, 2007 by Shenron

It’s an evil war game, which has developed morphologically from the city of Heroes. The players can enjoy bitter parts on the battle front and are free to choose the mask they want. Villains are created with great guile and craft and the appearance of the villains is what gives the feeling of the battle front. The players fight to rule the world. The chief moto underneath is to be successful in the bitter power of destruction. The greatest destructor is the winner.

City of Villains

The rival can be taken up for fun, and kidnapping and infiltration all can be enjoyed with nothing serious held in mind. Any kind of background can be selected which can be hot sunny day and the players perspiring or else the evening with the moon pascifying the land. Villains and the heroes both can be created on the theme so as to have pleasure to the fullest.

The story revolves around the sharkhead and the cage’s mine. There are mazes of holes and ditches to cross and the tunnel is dark and bitterly lit creating the feel of the Halloween night. There exists a lady like la bele dame sans merci ruling the land with her divine powers and entangling other warriors in the plats of her hair. So a mix of everything available for you, the history, the passion, the satire, the war front and the feeling of the fear and the beauty of the island all at one place. It’s a game for you to enjoy with the feel of the movie and a theme to work out.

Eve Online - a game that will captivate you

August 13th, 2007 by Shenron

Eve online is one of the many MMORPG’s to have come out over the recent months. There has been a lot of competition between them but there are aspects of Eve which are very unique and will compel you see exactly what you can make of yourself in this science fiction universe.

Eve Online

Along with the visuals comes a soundtrack created specifically for the game. The music has a feel to it that it belongs. The music is a relaxing affair, there are no strong beats or heavy sounds, but relaxing floating music, stuff you could imagine hearing as you’re drifting through space. Along with the music there are also the sound effects.
Skill learning has also taken a new step in this game. For most other MMORPG’s you level up by completing missions, or doing some other repetitive task over and over again. With Eve: Online you select a skill to learn and it will then present you with a countdown timer. This countdown timer still runs even when you are not playing the game, So if a skill says it will take 8 hours to complete, you can leave you computer off for the next 8 hours if you wish, knowing that when you return your skill will be there waiting for you.
All in all this is a fantastic game and if you let it, it can become a part of your life. I am glad that I started playing, I am sure you will too.
As a final score for this game, I can give it nothing less than 10 out of 10.

City of Heroes - An MMORPG that is fun!

July 31st, 2007 by Shenron

The thing with MMORPGs is once you first get the game you’re addicted. There seems to be limitless things to do and plenty of people to play with. But that feeling passes, quickly.

City of Heroes

With City of Heroes you are brought to a new game entirely. There is no complex system of game play. All you need to know is this: Find enhancements, use them to make your powers stronger, now kill. That’s it.
While leveling up may seem hard past 15 rest assured it’s not WORK at all. I gain levels so quickly because I’m not even thinking about it! I’m just killing things all day! It’s FUN. You’re a Super Hero, with super hero powers.
Another unique element this game brought to MMORPGs is Pool Powers. Once you reach level 14 you have a set to choose from: Super Speed, Super Leaping, Teleporting, and yes, flying.
One unique aspect I thought was the diversity in missions. In many MMORPGs, you find yourself doing the same boring mission over and over again. But in City of Heroes each mission links with one another, and the best part of it, you are part of the story. I was hunting some Robots and when I got to the boss I found out he was PROGRAMMED to terminate me. Pretty cool!
All in all this is the first MMORPG that is actually a game instead of mental labor. Even if you hate MMORPGs give it a try. You’ll be ultimately impressed.
