The Doom is a 1993 computer game by the id software that is a landmark title in the first person shooter genre. It is widely recognized for its pioneering use of 3d graphics and networked multiplayer gaming in the PC platform. Doom was even voted as the “Greatest Game of All Time”. The Doom is based on a science fiction horror theme and has a very simple plot. The player takes the role of a nameless marine who is considered to be one of the toughest marine hardened in combat and trained for action. Suddenly something goes wrong and all demons from the hell escape out of the teletransportationgates . All the personnel are killed or turned into zombies and the player is the only one to oppose them. In 1995 Doom was estimated to have been installed in more than 10 million computers. The ultimate Doom version1.9 was released making it the first time that Doom was sold commercially at store.Doom was and remains the most notorious for its high levels of violence and gore satanic imagery which have generated much controversy from large number of groups. The game again sparked a controversy in the U.S when there were school shootings during a period.Doom is regarded as the most important titles in the gaming history of all time. It was voted as the number 1 among 100 others.

Call of Duty

The “CALL OF DUTY” is the first person shooter video game which simulates the infantry and the combined arms warfare of World War ll. The game was launched based on the Quake lll engine. The game was Published by Activision and developed by the Infinity ward.Throughout the single player mode the player is supported by computer controlled allies who range from two to a whole regiment of tanks. The computer controlled actors lend a helping hand to the player by covering fire and also deliver helpful dialogues at times of hardships. They provide a truly impressive and a realistic experience to the player.The multiplayer mode of the Call of Duty is very similar to that of many others first person shooters.
It includes the following modes of play:
- Behind Enemy Lines
- Death match
- Team Death match
- Retrieval
- Search and Destroy
- Headquarters
The game has a number of modifications of varying levels of content and development.

The game has even received awards such as:
- 2003 Academy of Interactive Arts and Sciences-Game of the Year
- 2004 Game Developers Choice Awards-Excellence in Audio
The Call of Duty was featured in the third season of the of the U.S version of The Office in an episode called The Coup as a “Team Building Exercise”.
